    Hello all :)

OK so, I have used wordpress in the past, but that was just updating and maintaining a existing webpage - really easy

Ive looked around however I cant seem to find a direct answer.
    Is it possible to:

    1. Use a login system on your webpage. (not the wordpress log in), Eg. you type in your webpage address http://www.webpage.com, First screen = LOGIN,FORGOT password/ REGISTER - editable sections. eg i want this this and this. < Homepage and then subsequent pages.

2.On one of those subpages... have a Forum, that uses your username for posts.

(i have already set up the wordpress locally for testing / learning)

Is this something that can be achieved with word press?
the login for site / forum needs to be separate than word press admin
Or should i just go ahead and learn HTML?

The first bit sounds like custom programming. Why would you want this? I understand WordPress is the target of massive brute force login attempts right now, but still. Do you want to tie the front page login screen with both the WP site and a forum? There are bridge programs that most forums use to share users between programs. I suggest BBPress or BuddyPress as a means to integrate a forum with WP and share users across both.

its for a sign in gaming site, log in is essential.

custom programming might be the only way to go...

yes the log in needs to bridge to the forum and be separate from the WP system.

Can this be achieved with the aid of WP?

or should i just start from scratch?
