A few pre-activation questions

Hi. I have a few questions before I migrate from WP-Members to Ultimate Member. I’ve searched the documentation and FAQs but can’t seem to find answers.

1) Will Ultimate Member allow me to block specific media files from non-members? (WP-Members allows me to block selected pages and posts, but all media can still be accessed by non-members directly if they know the URL.)

2) I see that Ultimate Member has a global setting to restrict the entire site to members or not, and then each page or post can override that setting. If I keep that global setting turned off (unrestricted site), is there a way for new posts by members to be restricted to members by default? And if so, is there a way to prevent members from unrestricting their posts? (My goal is to have pages visible to the world and posts visible to members only, essentially.)

3) When a post is restricted, will any of it still show up on the “feed” page or in search results? (In WP-Members, everything in a blocked post before the “more” tag still shows up in the feed and in search results, and if there is no “more” tag, the whole thing shows up.)

4) How painful will the migration process from WP-Members to Ultimate Member be? Any anticipated issues?

5) Finally, and forgive me for asking but it really isn’t clear from the website: Is the basic functionality free? I see there are paid extensions, but does that mean that the regular stuff is non-paid?
