 * 1 Categories have something like a tree menu… Not putting them is ABC order.

2 Quick tag customization. 3 get rid of the Upload thing and use File Manager(
Plugin). 4 Built In Spell checker ! 5 Word Press version check plugin built inâ
€¦ Or something like that. Have WordPress Database manager built in (it’s a
plugin). Not DBbackup… 6. Mailing list tool. 7. Better admin menu and maybe theme
   support… ________________________________________________________ These are just
some ideas I had to make wordpress better. .. What do you think ? Thanks

 * You can get a very usable version check display using this plugin: PJW WordPress

 * 1. Where? In the admin or on the display?
    2. You can do it manually – I do it
   all the time 🙂 [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/quicktags/](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/quicktags/)
   3. It will different in 2.0. 6. Maybe it’s not a general demand… I don’t know.
   7. What do you mean by “theme support”?

 * Several plugins exist to solve your #6. These should remain as plugins, and not
be bundled in the core, because they’re using the wrong technology to solve the
   problem.
 * Update notification is most elegantly handled with RSS and Atom feeds. WordPress
presents a number of flexible feed options, for the whole site, individual categories,
specific authors, and comments. These allow for a granular subscription mechanism
that is extremely hard to replicate via email.

 * Yes,
Theme support ? Well at this current place in time if you want the Admin
area to look differnet you have to make a plugin why not admin themes. Also with
the 1 it’s in the theme’s what the users see not the admin area because the category
list does not go in the same order in the admin area and it does not show the
sub categories below the parent category. But that may be just me…
