Support » Theme: Parabola » a few accessibility issues

  • Hi,
I am using the parabola theme on two of my sites, and I happen to be blind. For this reason, I use a screen reader to access my computer, including the web. I have found just a few minor accessibility issues with the theme, which I will detail below:

    1. The link to open the menu of pages simply acts like it is a question mark to my screen reader. I am guessing this is because it is some UTF character that it does not recognize, but in any case it doesn’t say anything descriptive so I wouldn’t know what the link does.

    2. The sliders on the presentation page, when set to images, make my screen reader go through each image about 4 or 5 times before getting to the rest of the content. So it will say something like images/parabola-slide1 (x4) images/parabola-slide2 (x4) etc, as I navigate down the page.

If these could be fixed that would be great, and I’d be more than willing to test.
For the record I use jaws for windows for my screen reader, although I think this problem exists with NVDA and possibly orca (for linux).
    Thanks,
    -Michael.

P.S. The sites this happens on are http://2mb.solutions and http://michaeltaboada.me.
