Support » Fixing WordPress » A domain, a webspace, a .htaccess, permalinks and one poor guy.

  • Hey!

I’ve had a WordPress.com-blog for 7 years, but on January 1 2013 I want to relaunch my literature blog, self-hosted, with an own URL. Therefore I bought a package (at the hoster “World4You”) with webspace and domain (dominikleitner.com). Under dominikleitner.com/blog I installed WordPress, found a theme, did some work.

Then I bought another domain (for my blog itself; at GoDaddy): neonwilderness.net. And since two weeks I try to connect those too URLs. It works, that neonwilderness.net redirects to dominikleitner.com/blog. But – of course – I want to work with nice permalinks (e.g. neonwilderness.net/2013/01/01/hello-world). So I changed the Site URL at Settings>General and then I tried to change the Permalinks-structure.

WordPress told me then, that I have to change the .htaccess (although WordPress can edit the data of my .htaccess) … but I also did it manually at least twice. But it didn’t work.

Can anyone help me? I want to relaunch my blog on January 1 2013. And of course, with the new URL.

    Thanks!
