    Hi there,

    I have a couple of questions if someone could please help,

    a) I’ve set-up our site but the slider is taking up the whole screen. How do I re-size the home page so that the whole thing fits on the screen?

    b) I would like to remove the archives nav bar from the right hand column just on the home page and instead put the menu in the footer.

    Could someone please help? I’m a bit stuck.

    The website is: http://www.abicom.co.uk/wordpress

  • a) You can limit the growth of the slider with:

    #customizr-slider {
    max-width:960px;
    }

    in your Custom CSS panel.

    b) I’m not sure I understand what you’re trying to do. Could you expand a little?

    p.s. you need to resize your featured images so that they are 270px x 250px. That way, your rounded zoomers will work properly.

    Hi there,

    Thank you so much for your reply.

    I’ll try it and let you know if I’m still stuck when it comes to the home page.

    Do I need to this for each page if I should decide to use the slider on another page too?

    Wrt to point b) I had a button ticked on the front page panel that meant my archives and side panel were showing up at the bottom of the screen. D’oh! Fixed now.

    Thanks for letting me know about the featured images. Should I do the same for all the images on the other pages of the website?

    I do have another question. If you click on the products page (for example), you get the little tablet icon on the page next to the heading. Is that meant to be there?

    Once you put that code in your custom css it will affect every customizr sliders.

    About images: http://www.themesandco.com/customizr/#images

    About the “icon” for the page, yes is meant to be there, but you can remove it:

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there,

    I’ve managed to remove the icons – thank you 🙂

    The only thing is, I can’t get the slider to behave so that it doesn’t take up the screen. I did put the code into the Custom CSS on the theme customizr page.

    I re-sized the images as shown and reloaded them, am I just being slightly dim?

    I also downloaded the regenerate thumbnails plug-in, re-generated them etc but can’t get it to take on the featured images 🙁

    Arrghhh!!! Sorry to be a pain….

    I’m sorry, I don’t get the point about the slider 🙁
    Now it’s width is smaller, isn’t what you wanted?

    About featured images, I see the first 2 are too small: 180×154; while the third is 270×250 (the suggested size).

    The slider now looks to be working as you wanted: smaller and not taking up the screen.

    “Regenerate thumbnails” probably worked fine, but you didn’t need it; you simply need to point to the right images:

    If you re-uploaded the featured images at 270×250, without touching the current ones, then they are probably there in your media library, with slightly different names (they probably have a “-1” at the end of the name or something). You will need to go to the three featured pages, remove the current (old) featured images, and add the newly-uploaded featured images. Check when you add them that they are the correct 270×250 ones.

    After that, you can delete the old ones (if you don’t need them any more), to remove future confusion.
