a category template with a different sidebar possible?

  • I need a category template and I’m wondering if it’s possible to make a new sidebar specifically for that template (with a different width, new content, different order…)
    Is it possible?
    Thanks

  • honestly, have you read anything that exists in the codex?

your questions tire me out, especially when the answers are so easily found.

Make it, name it category.php and youre off.

Not sure wth you mean by new content though. Again, you really need to read — category.php displays the CONTENTS of categories. Thats, like, why its called category.php

I meant the contents of the sidebar

and again the answer is yes. You do not need to use the standard “sidebar include” that you see in all the themes. Just make the template complete with the sidebar stuff you want included already in it.
