Open your stylesheet (style.css), find the background colour and change it.

You can use the “blogroll”/”links” for that. Add them under manage->links and put the links widget in the sidebar (display->widgets)

Only people with the priviliges to do that and you assign them since you’re admin (I asume).

    Above 🙂

    thanks! done. another question?
how do I change the font and alignment of the header?
I went into the theme manager under the style sheet and where I saw “center”, which is how the header is aligned in the Kubrick theme, I switched to “left” a couple of places, clicked update and got nothing. i was able to change header color only because I was able to use the separate function color has. i haven’t found same for fonts and alignments. am missing something? fonts seem trickier yet as i see several names of font types line up but only one font appears. a mystery to me.

If you don’t already run it, install Firefox. Then install an add-on called Firebug. Firebug allows you to inspect any website and see the connection between the CSS and the HTML.

thanks. taking another look at the style sheet I was able to read it better and change the typeface. That however, led to new problems like smaller fonts. i’m not sure acquainting myself with foxfire and CSS first, rather than taking another look at fonts will take more or less time and get better results. it’s all an education.
