Support » Plugin: Give - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform » A bug? EUR donation on file in database, but AUD received on PayPal instead

We are trying to figure out one issue. We have received a PayPal Standard donation denominated in EUR, the Give database shows a regular EUR donation, but PayPal sent a confirmation email to us confirming we got 3 AUD (Australian dollars), not 3 EUR.

We don’t have a currency selector installed on our site, all people can donate only in EUR. Does it mean donors are somehow able to change the currency on the fly? This brings a complete chaos into our system, because we have EUR donation registered in our Give database but our PayPal has received an AUD donation instead.

  • In addition, this error is being displayed for people who live in non-EUR countries:

    Make your choice:
    [ ] 3,00 EUR
    [ ] 5,00 EUR
    [x] 10,00 EUR
    Error message “{transfer/inc/fundingOptionDisplayName.fundingType.displayName} 10,00 AUD”

After selecting any amount from the list, the error is displayed immediately and when people ignore this error and proceed with the donation, it is processed as an AUD donation by PayPal.

    Hi @nephalem,

The behavior you have described there is certainly not intended. Please contact us at our website at https://givewp.com/contact-us and select “I am responding to your request to contact Give” from the options.

In that reply, please send along your System Info.

Navigate to Donations –> Tools –> System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply there.

    Thanks so much!
