Just wanted to say thank you for helping us remove the conflicted version of our plugin (Event Espresso) from the plugin repository.
So everyone knows what happened, and hopefully it doesn’t happen to you. We recently performed a complete rewrite to the free version of our plugin on WordPress.org. We didn’t want to risk breaking everyone’s install of the older versions, so we created a new repository for the updated version. Shortly after uploading the files to the new plugin repository, all of the people that paid for a premium support license started receiving upgrade notices. Upon upgrading, it reverted everyone’s install back to the free version.
Since I post my phone number on our site (so our customers can talk to a live person), my phone started ringing off the hook! Needless to say, my email inbox was flooded as well.
In order to get the madness to stop, I started removing the plugin files and added a note in the title of the plugin that said DO NOT INSTALL. Within minutes, Andrew Nacin seen what was going on and offered to disable the plugin for us.
What a life saver!
