    Hello guys
I am guessin this is a rather basic question for you champs.

Say I wanna make a website called sports.com focused heavily on sub domains, like
    chess.sports.com and maybe 20 more.

what's the best way to go about it ? install wordpress on every single sub-domain separately or install the wordpress multisite and use the network admin to start sub domains ?

I'd love to hear some pros and cons. Maybe i am using the wrong keywords coz i couldn't find a solution to this online.

thanks for your help folks :)

In the future, please choose a descriptive title per forum guidelines.

Sure, if the sites are related in this fashion you can use WordPress Multisite and have each subdomain be a different sport. However, you could also categorize each sport into a post category and have it all on the same domain.

Than you for your reply Patrick. :)
As the sports are not related, imo it's better to have sub-domains.
Is it rather taxing on server resources ? as i intend to use the same plugins and
    settings for every sub domain.

    thank you once again :)

If you have a multisite installation with 20+ sites in the network you will need high-performance hosting. Depending on traffic levels and how you optimize the network, you will need either a VPS or a Dedicated Server. You should also look into nginx as a web server because it will have better performance.
