Support » Plugin: Events Manager » #_EVENTLOCATION Not showing in email or in Admin Panel

This plugin gives an option to allow Locations. It also gives an option to allow URLs for a virtual location which can be sent in an email confirmation using the #_EVENTLOCATION placeholder.

This no longer works without explanation. No event link is being sent in the confirmation emails to customers.

On the Edit Event page (backend) the “Where” section is blank and does not show options that have been there previously.

On the Edit Event page (frontend) the “Where” section shows the text fields, but they show as empty and do not save any information input after submitting the event.

I deactivated every. single. plugin. on my website and it still is not showing the “where” section or sending the event links via email. This is definitely a plugin specific issue as there are no plugin conflicts.

Can we have a patch to resolve this?

Hello, the latest plugin should have fixed the #_EVENTLOCATION issue (5.9.11), are you on this version?

I’m not able to replicate the issue you’re describing though. Can you post a screenshot of your location settings, and also the ‘WHERE’ section, so I can see what’s happening?

By the way, we’ve just updated a dev version which might fix the issue on your WHERE section, as there have been some clashes with other plugins to some JS tweaks we’ve made.

You can upgrade via your dashboards with a few extra clicks as per these instructions, we should also follow up with a stable update within 24 hours.

I’d still need more info on what kind of event location is being booked and what you’d expect to show for #_EVENTLOCATION on the emails.

I appreciate the reply. My locations fields aren’t showing in the backend. They show in the frontend submission form, but don’t hold any data when submitted.

As a consequence, this information isn’t being sent in booking confirmation emails using the placeholder #_EVENTLOCATION since it appears there’s nothing being saved in the “URL” type location fields when submitted.

Here’s a link to a screenshot of that field, expanded in the backend create event page: https://imgur.com/0psK2fr As you can see, the fields: “URL” and “Link Text” don’t show.

    Steps taken to self-troubleshoot:
    • All plugins disabled
    • Updated to Version 5.9.11.3
    • Rolled plugin back to 5.9 & 5.10

The issue only began after the recent update to 5.9.11, so upgrading to that version wouldn’t correct it as I wasn’t experiencing it prior to that update.
    Thank You

Thanks for the feedback. That screenshot doesn’t give me much to go on except:

Have you tried switching themes? The meta box templates can be overridden in themes, it’s possible you’ve tried doing that, or maybe your theme did.

Did rolling back to 5.9/10 not help?

Could you take a screenshot of your Events > Settings > General > General Options > Location Settings section? Maybe with your exact set of setting combinations we can replicate it.

The trick here is reproducing the error on our side, then fixing is easy. Otherwise, the only way to dig deeper is to view your install directly, however this forum rules states that we’re not allowed to ask you to submit us login information, nor visit our contact page to do so.

You’ve done it! It was the theme. All is working now and I’ve updated my review to reflect your great support. Thank you!
