# _blank behavior

 * Hi everyone here,
 * I am asking your help about an unespected behavior using target _blank.
 * Two sites hosted at the same provider, using buddypress and the same x2 theme,
   one a normal site, the other multisite.
 * In the normal site the links targeted using _blank, once clicked open new tabs,
   in the multisite the links open a new windows (or pop-ups).
 * Someone knows how to fix this strange behavior so that links using _blank target
   open new tabs and not new windows?

   the only links with _blank are the WP/BP ones at the bottom, and they open in
   new tabs for me.

 * yes, 100% same buddypress plugin (not all the plugins) and theme
 * The links in the footer are good for test but try them using Chrome

 * I hadn’t understood immediately your suggestion so my previous answer was a bit
   wrong; as I said, BuddyPress plugin and X2 theme were the same on both sites 
   but not all the plugins installed were the same, they were different.
 * So, thinking about your suggestion, I deactivated almost all the plugins on multisite
   till I individuated a couple of plugins (strictly interconnected between them)
   causing the undesidered behavior. So, after a boring but deep test, I deactivated
   them definitely to solve the issue.
 * I have to report, however, these plugins were both present and active on multisite
   and monosite but in the latter they don’t cause any issue, so they are still 
   present and active on monosite where _blank behavior is as expected despite their
   presence.
