urgent: wp e-commerce no country dropdown in checkout

    OK a co-worker foolishly updated the wp e-commerce plugin resulting in the customized theme being overwritten.

    I’ve managed to restore most of it but there is a small thing remaining on the checkout page: the dropdown for the shipping country is just dropdown with no countries in it. It used to have many countries to select. I checked the theme file and the <?php echo wpsc_shipping_country_list();?> is there but seem to not be working correctly. Shipping settings have not changed since the accidental upgrade.
