For some reason I can’t get the caching of images to work on my 1and1 shared hosting, I’m using custom images instead of STW but I’m getting a whole bunch of errors.

The cache directory is set to 0777, I’ve tried the default cache directory and the alt one, both cURL and fopen which shouldn’t matter since I’m not using STW. I’m getting three green checks on the Server Compatibility Checker chart yet the images are 1k in size and all messed up.

I’m using fake STW settings with the account type set to Paid so I can use a custom thumb width of 438px (all my Custom images are 438×246) and they are already on my site in the media library.

What I’d like to do is bypass the cache completely and use the Custom Thumbnail URL image for each site and have that show both in the admin dashboard and on the page. Caching the images is really unnecessary for me as they never change. I tried looking at the plugin files but didn’t see anything easily changeable to achieve this.

ok never mind, I had a huge lightbulb come on and I added the url of my original images to the Custom Field and modified my html layout and now I bypass the whole cache system 😀
