Currently on my Install, I am running 3 sites now. They are all Domain Mapped with Multisite. Using Site ID’s.

I just mapped a new site, and when I go to the site and the dashboard I am getting 404s for CSS Files, Images, Theme Files, etc. I am able to see my posts, but it looks like my site is stripped.

This is my first time doing this, and I basically set this up by following how the other two sites that I have on this WordPress install. And they are not getting these same issues.

    What is my issue?

  • This happens to me sometimes. Usually deleting the site and removing the domain (from Domain Mapping and cPanel) then recreating it fixes it.

Well that is going to be difficult to do because its a blog site, and I don’t want to go through the hassle of coping the database. And I don’t use CPanel.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

Did you at least remove the domain and attempt to re-apply it again. Including doing a re-save of your permalink settings?

Or was that too much “hassle?”

Yes, I did re-apply the domain.

And what do you mean by re-save my permalink settings? Are you talking about the options-permalinks.php file?

Nope; just press the “Save” button in the permalinks menu for the primary site of the network. It’s actually works with rather concerning frequency.

Still doesn’t work. I even re-saved all the permalinks for the other sites. In the article that you linked me it also suggest to disable all plugins and go from there. I would try that, but that would disable all the plugins that are being used for the other sites. Might have to do it at midnight.

Okay, so It is working now…

I went into the Network Dashboard, and for the Domain of the broken site, I entered in the url of the sitename, and the url of the main site.

    Example:
    siteurl.blogs.mainsiteurl.com

Some of the links are wacky, but its working..

    Current issue.

The site with the mapped domain is working. Except when I add www. to the front of the address.

When I click on a posts, the site URL is the subdomain for my WordPress Network Site.
So it should be siteurl.com/posts/10/2012, not subdomain.networksite.com/posts/10/2012.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks for the help Shane.

The Domain Mapping plugin helped. I was afraid to use in the beginning because I thought it would hurt my other sites, so I just activated the plugin only on this one.
