jQuery accordion vertical drop down menu not working

I have installed the jQuery Accordion plug-in but I can’t seem to get it to work. I have set up a couple parent pages each with a few children pages but when I view the site, the menus do not show the child pages. I have tried to use the hover and the click options and also the option to expand when on the parent page. Please help.
