    Great Plugin
I would like to use it only in the AFTER POST sidebar in the Eleven 40 theme. The problem is that when I do this on each post there is the related links produce by your plugin after the content and ALSO in the AFTER POST box.

Can I do anything about this?

The reason I ned this is:

    1) Looks better
    2) The related links if used in the AFTER POST will not appear in the STORE

Thanks in advance for your help

If you are using the Related Posts Widget in the AFTER POST box then you can turn off “Automatically add links to Related Posts at the bottom of every Post“.

I’m sure about how that AFTER POST box is structured so if that does’t work right for you just sendd me a link to your site and I’ll have a look.

    Thanks Eli.

I have been doing that and there are now two related 🙂 issues:

    1) in the posts the content is copied below…see as examples:

    http://www.cpe-tools-techniques.com/work-family-balance/

    and

    http://www.cpe-tools-techniques.com/the-precious-assistant-and-managing-email/

    2) the plugin does not seem to pick up PRODUCTS with the tags, only posts which is a little unfortunate …see:

    http://www.cpe-tools-techniques.com/presentation-preparation-part-1/

even though there is a PRODUCT with that tag

Thanks again for your quick reply.

Interesting, I see what you mean. I think this is because the Query in my init script is interfering with the theme’s post query.

    1) Try turning “Automatically add links to Related Posts at the bottom of every Post” back on but set the “Number of Link to list” to 0 (that’s a zero) as a workaround. If that works I know what I would need to change in my next release.

    2) To see if we can get the PRODUCTS to be related try editing the plugins/spostarbust/index.php file. On line 302 add 'post_type' => 'any', to the beginning of the tags_query array. That line would then start off like this:
    $tags_query = array('post_type' => 'any', 'showposts' => $number, ...

Let me know if any of this helps.

I have done as you ask and I see the following:

    1) Number of Link to List, changed in the Admin panel and/or in the Widget I get the following, which is worse. ie I see nothing.:

    http://www.cpe-tools-techniques.com/presentation-preparation-part-1/

    2) this makes no difference I am afraid. And I have checked to make sure the product and normal post have the same tag

I am sorry for the issues Eli and thank you for your help.

I am surprised others have not already asked about these issues as the opportunity to relate posts and products automatically would seem worthwhile..

    Mark,
Maybe we should tackle one problem at a time.

    1) If Number of Link to List is ZERO on the Admin page and in the Widget you would surely see nothing. My intention was to have it set to ZERO on the Admin page but 5 (or what ever you want to see) on the Widget.

Another approach, if you are willing, is to give me access to your WP Admin and I can tweak the setting (and my code if needed) to get it working the way you want. I am very proficient at fixing things if I have direct access. Otherwise just let me know how this suggestion for problem #1 works and we can go from there.

I want to help with problem #2 also (you are right, I think others would appreciate relating products or other taxonomies). I won’t give up on you until we get it all working.

    Mark,
What is the status of your issue? Did you try my last suggestion?

I think it’s just a matter of getting the setting right but if there are code changes needed I am willing to do that too.

Please let me what you need, I want to help you.

    Aloha, Eli
