• Hello to all.

Someone asked me to make for him a subdomain on his existing domain. So far, so good.

What he needs, is a list of pregenerated passwords (this does not concern the question, as he will give them to me) for someone to use to be able to access the subdomain. Those passwords will have to expire in a month.

Can someone provide me with some info on how should I do it?

I tried searching for something close to this, but I could not find any info.

    Thank you.

  • Can I ask what this has to do with WordPress?

Well, it will be on a wordpress installation, so I guess it was ok to post here.

Now I see I did not mentioned that in the above message… :/ sorry.

Have you tried looking for a suitable password generation and/or expiration plugin?

This is not a bad idea at all esmi. I didn’t knew that a password expiration plugin existed.

As for the password generation, the plan is to have a user send a message via his cellphone and use the password that some other company sends him so he can access the extra stuff on the subdomain. As far as he told me, the other company will generate let’s say 3.000 passwords. They will hand those passwords to me, and I must find a way to put the passwords in use.

The last part is where my mind is stuck. Should I just inject the passwords into the database? If yes, may you give me some guidelines? Is there another way to achieve this?

Thank you very much for your time esmi (and whoever reads this), but this is an aspect of wordpress I’ve never tried/asked to do before.
