Can not search for plugins or new themes

Hi,

Every time I go to search for a new plugin or theme this message appears

(An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration.)

I originally thought it was a problem with the Simple Instagram plugin, which was not working properly. But the problem keeps persisting even though I have removed the Simple Instagram plugin.

The site seems to be working fine otherwise, this issue wasn’t a problem in the beginning. Only shown up over the past few days.
