Support » Plugins » How to add plugins to Buddypress

  • First of all I don’t know if we have wordpress.com or wordpress.org…
It’s written “Welcome to your new WordPress site!” Somewhere it’s written version 3.4.2.
We have added BuddyPress, but we like to put some extra plugins, “BuddyPress Media Content” to start with. How do we do this? It seems like I need to login there at BuddyPress, but I don’t think I made any registration when I added BuddyPress…? It’s really quite confusing with so many logins…
Our new site is here: http://veggieboom.com/
If someome can give very good instructions, to someone who doesn’t have a clue, I would so much appreciate it!

  • You are using WordPress.org

You have also installed BuddyPress already.

For BuddyPress Media, its here – wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-media/

You can install it like other wordpress plugins

    Hi Rahul and thanks!
I have installed BuddyPress Media Component and can see it on my dashboard, but nothing has changed on my site. What do I need to do?
    Hope you know…

You will need to go to Dashboard >> Settings >> BuddyPress >> Media to configure it. It works out of the box though!

    Please check for screenshots: http://rtcamp.com/buddypress-media/tour/

Thanks again Rahul! I had done all that but I thought it was going to show up a Media page under the banner…
I have a blog at blogspot, Blogger and it’s so much easier! Maybe it’s because I’m used to it, but here at WordPress I think everything is so difficult. What’s a “Custom menu”…? The layout? I added “Recipes” at Create menu and saved, but again nothing happened. I would like to have a “page” called recipes which would actually be the tag “recipes”, so every time we write a recipe it will be added there.
Do you know how this is done as well…?

Sorry but I am not sure what do u mean by “Recipes”.

Our plugin adds Media (photos, audio, video)

You can contact developers of “Recipes” (if you are adding it via plugin).
