• Askimet caught two spam comments yesterday:

    “car insurance | http://carinsurancecar.blogspot.com
    IP: 85.192.165.116

    car insurance…”

The weird thing is that our blog (http://blogs.gmfus.org/) requires users to create an account and log in before commenting and there is no user by the name of ‘car insurance’.

At first I thought he created an account, left spam and deleted his account, but there is no skip in user ID numbers, so I don’t think that’s possible.

Any idea how they got through to leave a comment?

  • Yes. Those are NOT comments (by searching you could have figured it out). Those are trackbacks made by automated spam scripts.
