[Plugin: Genesis Slider] Vertical Photos in Slider

I’m just making the switch from blogger to WP, so be patient with me as I’m a total newbie!

I’m frustrated with the way my vertical images appear in my slider– they don’t take up the whole frame (like they do in the post teaser photos), which would look a lot nicer. Is there any way I can edit this in CSS? And could you explain it to me in SUPER simple terms? Newbie here, remember.

Or do I have to make the first photo in all of my posts horizontal? I’d hate to do that as I rely on Pinterest for much of my traffic, and the best photos for pinterest are vertical…
