Sidebar drops down belove post

    i am taking over the maintenance of a website with a theme installed, and trying to re-add a sidebar that was deleted. When I do so, it drops down below the posts. I’m aware this is a commoon problem, but all of the posts I’ve read don’t seem to work in my case — or I’m too daft to administer the solutions accurately.

    I’d like to get a sidebar to go vertically down the right side of the body. Can someone help me?

    You should make your #content div narrower to make room for the sidebar, say 650px wide, and then you need to move the #sidebar out of the #content div… as that will be simpler than making all the posts narrower…

    Max, Thanks. I did the first part — for doing the ” move the #sidebar out of the #content div,” forgive me for not knowing this … but which file do I do this in? the index.php? And where?

    That depends on your theme – usually that part is contained in index.php or page.php…
