• Canadian Pharmacy has hacked my site twice. I rebuilt, updated, reinstalled all posts, pages, comments, media. It was fine for a few days, Now they’re back!! I’m at my wits end. The symptom is as follows: whenever I am logged in and working the settings of a plugin – ie, trying to run anti hacking plugin, creating a new NextGen Gallery, etc. the button links connect me to the Pharmacy. I am wondering if I deactivate and delete all plugins both through the wordpress admin and ftp, will my website go haywire and will I be able to reinstall new clean plugins?

  • Double check to see whether you have any other directories installed within your website with either old scripts or files you don’t recognize as well.

On a few sites I’ve fixed over the years client swore up and down everything was updated. Then after closer inspection turns out they had forgotten their web designer has installed scripts like Coppermine, and other gallery type scripts in other long forgotten directories.

Yes, reinstalling and deleting then re-adding plugins may help as well.
