Preventing certain pages and posts from being searchable

    How can we prevent certain pages and posts from appearing in WP search results? We have some pages/posts with obsolete information, but are not quite prepared to delete them yet. I read about a way to possibly achieve this, but it requires editing the functions.php file. Is there a way to do this through the admin?
