problem with USPS shipping – software bug?

    While working out some shipping details I found that the USPS shipping calculation chokes if I go partially through checkout to the point of calculating shipping (works ok on this initial run), then go back a few pages and change the number of units and hit “continue” it goes to the shipping page and still has my location information displayed. The FedEx shipping is correct but I get no USPS shipping and “Sorry. Online ordering is unavailable…” message at the top. If I click “calculate” (with no other input) it gives USPS shipping (and FedEx) amounts with no errors.

    What plugin?

    It would be best to post something like this directly to the plugin’s support section, or theme, or whatever you would be referring to.

    As it is, we have no idea where this functionality is even coming from in your setup

    I am using the e-commerce shopping cart ver 3.8.8.5. Gold cart for e-commerce ver 2.9.7. All from getshopped.org. USPS shipping rate lookup is included and not a separate plugin.

    You are right. I should and will post there. But am also hoping to find out if this is a specific to this plugin or a more general issue. Also what other options for shopping cart and shipping plug ins (and how easy it might be to convert) there are. So far I’m not impressed with getshopped.

    I’ve played around with a few other shopping carts like eshop and jigoshop

    woocommerce is also recommended by many

    I believe eshop has a shipping calcualtor addon, and the other 2 have shipping calculators IIRC … either inbuilt, or addon
