Experience: Only started using wordpress within the past month.

I enabled Anyone Can Register under General Settings. When you register, is requires you to enter your desired username and then your email address. Within seconds you receive an email with your auto-generated password. But this email also directs you to a specific url, for example: http://myinsurancenews.info/wp-login.php

I want it to just say: http://myinsurancenews.info because if the new user goes where it tells them now, they sign in and go to a dashboard and will most likely get confused.

The other option is after sign in to direct the user to the Main Page or Forum Page instead of going to the backend profile section and disabling the see/edit profile option – which I also do not know how to do.

I am only using the registration for a forum called Guest Blogs which I put in this morning. I set the level at Author.

If needed I can take snap shots of my dashboard options. I have gone through every thing that I can think of under settings, appearance, users, etc.

    Thank you in advance.

Can anyone help me please? I just had a new user log in where the email told them to and then they made a post that won’t show on the website because I don’t have new posts enabled. This is why I made a Forum page. I really need to get this email changed so that it says to go to the main site and not the wordpress log in area.
