Looking at http://www.apistudyabroad.com/, it seems to be working now…
Did it move back to the rate limiting message out of the blue or had you recently changed any settings (which would mean that there might be nothing in the cache)?
Best wishes,
Martin
Aha. I went to recheck and it was showing the rate-limiting message again.
Very odd.
There’s a function to trigger rate limiting that I used to check the plug-in on my own site and the caching worked perfectly! If you look at the HTML (for the next 40 minutes or so) you can see that it’s rate-limited, but it continues showing the right tweets…
Can you try the development version of the plug-in at http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/rotatingtweets.zip and let me know if it improves things?
Martin
I’ve had a look at your site and it seems to be downloading OK. Please let me know if there is still a problem.
Hi Martin
First of all, thank you for developing such a great plugin for WP!
(used it succesfully on another site before)
On October 2nd I downloaded and installed your plugin again on the following WP install. (version 3.4.2)
I use WP Super Cache and Add Link to Facebook for plugins. I did a fresh WP install. At the moment of installation, the only plugin that was active was WP Super Cache.
The moment I installed Rotating Tweets, I got that message saying that my site is rate limited by Twitter.
Do you have any ideas on how to solve this ?
Kind regards,

Edwin,
If you have shared hosting and/or another plug-in that is hitting Twitter too hard, then you may get this message.
As soon as it gets through and manages to download the latest tweets, the message should go away permanently!
So the only solution currently is to wait!
Sometimes it may be worth waiting until the exact time that Rotating Tweets tells you to reload and then reload before someone else gets in and resets Twitter rate-limiting.
Hope this helps,
Martin
Hi Martin
You were absolutely right 🙂
Took your advice and waited a day (or two ;))
And indeed, finally the Tweet-stream picked up its pace again.
Strange phenomenon…;)
Thanks again, you’re help is highly appreciated!
Kind regards,
Edwin
