I have just highlighted and deactivated all plugins to check an error on my site. This has now cause the following error message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/hadfield/public_html/wp-config.php on line 2

I have removed the code on line 2 and then the error becomes this

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/hadfield/public_html/wp-config.php on line 19

    ?????

Not sure what steps to take next

I do use a child theme could this be causing conflicts???

Any suggestions what I should do more than welcome.

I have backed up the site, would it be easier to just reinstall rather than try to find the error??

    Update 1

I have found a really good article on one cause here… parse error after deactivating w3cache

I have changed this code and now my site is back up and visible, however the plugins dont work and I can not access any of the plugins on the dashboard. When I click on the plugins link icon brings up the original error???

Confused and in need of help… any suggestions??
