• I have uploaded a media file (mp4) into my library and attached it to “a page”. However, when clicking on the link (which does show up on “the page”) instead of playing back… the media file wants to make a copy onto my desk top (like I’m downloading from the internet or a e-mail.

I thought before I used up my 3rd wish from the magic lamp I found…I would try you good folks here.
    Thanks in advance!!

  • You can use a plugin to embed an audio player to play your media file. Something like this plugin

    Rachel,

Thank you soooo much for your reply. I have uploaded MediaElement to WP and can see both the audio and video player on “the page”, however, the media file (when link is clicked) still wants to download the file to my desk top. Obviously I have missed something.I visited the support section of mediaElement but didn’t find much that addressed my situation. I’m “guessing” if I can see both the audio and video players on the screen, and the plugin is activated, I have correctly placed the plugin onto WP.

(“guessing”..is the key word here. 🙂

    Thanks,
    r,
