Support » Fixing WordPress » Trying to build a second site but can't find wp-config.php

  • Hi
I am trying to build a second site using wordpress.
I have reset the nameservers and to be honest I am not sure where to start.
I have read that wordpress can be configured for multisite and that I have to edit the wp-config.php file, however when I go into file manager I can’t find it
Please can anybody give me any advice
    thank you

  • What do you see in the file manager?

Ah, I have found it in root folder.I will now follow the step by step guidleines now to see if I can make this work

By default, it should not be in that root folder. By default in would be in the same folder with wp-admin, wp-config, and wp-includes, and there should be 20 or so other WordPress .php files in there too. Something is wrong with your setup. That wp-config.php file can be moved up one level from the document root, which is not what you describe, but the others cannot, as far as I know.
