• Hi there
After painstakingly uninstalling 3.4.2 and reinstalling 3.4.1 and getting everything up and running again, the visual editor interface randomly disappeared in only one post type.
After reading all the responses in WP forums, I started to deactivate my plugins, only to find that after deactivating one of them, WP crashed entirely and I can’t get back in.
I have spent weeks trying to get this to where it is (which is absolutely basic) – how do I avoid having a breakdown? Can you please help resolve this?

  • Always switch to default unedited theme and deactivate all plugins prior to an update. It is also very important to have that full backup should an issue arise. With so many differing themes, plugins, and edits to each possible, it is impossible to test the updater with all possible combinations. It is well tested with default setup.

Yeah I discovered that the hard way. Unfortunately downloaded the latest version without doing any of that, found myself in grave trouble and uninstalled it completely and started all over again with the prevoius version. I made great progress until the visual editor disappeared randomly today. I began to deactivate the plugins when WP crashed entirely. How do I get it back so I can continue working? Can I reactivate the plugins through the files on my host?
