Can't access Admin or edit anything after upgrading to WP 3.4.2

    I know others have had this problem but the moderators are asking that each person make a thread for their problems. I upgraded to 3.4.2 and immediately I had problems accessing the admin section. I can’t do anything on the site.

    I was about to re-install the update on my host account but I don’t want to overwrite and erase all of my old stuff so I’m really unsure. How can I fix this?

    May be it did not update properly using ftp replace all files and folders except wp-content folder and wp-config.php file

    I’m wondering if there’s a problem with the update. I can sign in just fine, but now am battling the system to reauthorize my Facebook account and Facebook page. I keep getting prompted to upgrade my account both on LinksAlpha and on WordPress. Not only that, NONE of my blog post links are working; they reroute to the static front page. I’m about to put a bullet through this laptop…

    I’ve seen that answer elsewhere but I don’t know how to replace those files and folders. I copied the wp-content folder and wp-config.php file to another folder just in case and I tried reinstalling the WordPress app on Godaddy but it wouldn’t let me overwrite it.

    Am I doing it right?

    Hey there GatorWills,

    I’m not sure if this solution is going to work for sure. But someone suggested this solution ..

    Download fresh WordPress package.
    Unzip it
    Upload WP-Admin and WP-Includes folders to your server over-writing the old folders.

    Hope this solution works.

    Forgot to mention, no harm in trying the above solution IF you do not have any customizations done in the ADMIN of your blog.

    @gatorwills all you need to do log in using ftp like filezilla and delete the folders and files and re upload them from fresh download of wordpress.
