• Hi,
I noticed that on google search my site description is simply the last published post paragraph. however i wish for the text to be something else, a constant text that describes my site and atracts people to visit.

so i guess my question is how do i change my index page meta description? (and only that page, i dont want it to effect the posts, i type meta description for them separately).
    thanks

  • Searching for info on this too… I have developed a one-page-scroll site and the ‘og:description’ seems to be defaulting to last post’s meta description doesn’t really make sense to have it like that.

Is there a work around for this wouldn’t produce better meta to have ‘index’ description to be seperated from post description.

    I’ve dev a child-theme from Automattic’s Toolbox theme using http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/
for handling open graph and seo descriptions.

    Looking for solution to fix?

    Thanks,
    jean

I’m having the same issue. I’ve searched throughout the forums but can’t find a solution that works.

    Hopefully someone knows the answer…

Same issue, need fast upto date answer

I have this same issue, if anyone can help ? Have also googled, and gone thought the last month of entries on here.

Filled out the ‘Titles & Metas’ tab ‘Home’ but his doesn’t show on the google page. Strange thing is – I’ve been using this plugin since the start, and it wasn’t always like this – something has changed in the last couple of months (probably a clash with another plugin ?)

I have same issue. This is the most basic and important SEO for your site and Yoast seems to have dropped the ball on this one because it looks like noone has responded with an explanation based on the 5 of us posting on this thread.
