• Any one know a way of forcing users to accept cookies if they want to see the site.

Not sure if I am the only one worried about this but my site relies on cookies to earn. Current stats are showing because of all the EU scare mongering only about 10% of people have them activated.

Users do not understand that commissions pay for the free sites they use, those sites stop earning they vanish.

Here’s what I would like. To pop up the window in accordance with new laws but with a clear, sorry if you do not accept cookies you can not use our site. And an explaination to the visitor why. Web users need re-educating and quickly.

Invasion of privacy over cookies….really? Can I opt out of cctv while im shopping in town???

Until affiliate programmes come up with some other way of tracking this will have to be the case.

Ideas on how this can be achieved anyone?

  • There are a couple of cookie compliance plugins that you might want to have a look at.

Esmi I am not talking about complience I am talking about refusing visitors who click no.

For example we have in our portfolio several sites promoting software. Commissions are tracked using cookies. If the visitor has cookies disabled, visits the site and buys the software the seller gets a new client and we get nothing.

I am not talking about complience I am talking about refusing visitors who click no.

And that’s how some of these plugins work.
