Jetpack Subscriptions

My site http://www.somewhereorbust.com has a subscribe option (using the Jetpack plug-in). But I’ve had numerous people write to me saying that they had tried subscribing to my blog (some multiple times) but they never received the automatic updates via email. I also have had readers tell me that they were receiving the updates in the beginning, but now they do not. (They told me they did not unsubscribe.) I’ve signed up as a subscriber to my blog and I had no problems. I’m wondering why others are.

I suspect that those who have had problems must have deleted the first confirmation email, but when they went back to subscribe again, I told them to check their junk/spam box and no confirmation email had been delivered.

Does anybody have any suggestions or know of a better subscription widget?
