• Hello!

I just migrated from wordpress.com. I have an RSS feed from a community podcast. It went into wordpress.com widget, easy as.

Now, if you look at http://www.w3joy.org/ (top right widget), you will see that I get this message:

RSS Error: A feed could not be found at http://www.cpod.org.au/feed.php?id=330. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.

I have validated the feed–it works, although it gave this message :

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

Feeds should not be served with the “application/xhtml+xml” media type [help]

sorry to sound like a rookie, but can someone walk me through (EXACTLY) how to “use force_feed()” Child CSS (I have it set up)? Plugin? How can I get my feed running again?

    Cheers,
    Squirrel (co-host w3JOY)

(I have tried searching the topics, forgive me if I repeat).

I think this might be an issue on the server that is producing that feed. I can only suggest that get in touch with that site about it.

But the feed works just fine in wordpress.com……and it’s running fine on the radio station’s main site…..? (I just checked it again)

How do I try the “force_feed”? I’ve lowered the minutes to 30 (1800)…..but I just want the feed to work. It can be basic….

From what I recall, force_feed is already enabled by default in WordPress core. The message you are seeing shouldn’t really be shown and will be removed in future versions of WordPress.
