I am fairly new to coding but I have tried to adjust the coding in a home template editor section once the website is live. I wanted to move a log on button slightly to the right but now the whole website is not working.

Once I had changed the code I updated the page and it clearly was not right so I pasted the original coding but the website still will not appear when I go on the website. Please can anyone help me, have I completely messed up the whole website?

    Can you re-install your theme?

    Hi,

Clear your browser’s cache. Then see if your site is back to what it was previously.

If no, then please provide us with a link to your website so we can take a look.

    Thanks, Whit

If I re-install the theme will I lose all the content? I don’t want to make it any worse

The website’s http://www.billyandmargot.com and at the moment it is just a white screen

It’s not the browser’s cache it’s something ive done with the coding on the template but I’m not sure how to sort it out

The template is also custom one

Sorry I stepped out for a bit.

Make sure you back up your database before you start. You can also export all content by doing the following: in the Dashboard, go to Tools > Export > select ‘ALL’ and then click “Download Export File.” Now you have everything both from your database backup and in XML format.

Now you can reinstall your theme files. If you data is not there after reinstalling, you have it backed up and can reinstall the settings and content either in MySQL or in WordPress backend by using the Import tool.

    Cheers, Whit

Thank you for the advice Whit, I’ll be sure to do that once I have sorted the problem out first because there’s no point backing up coding that doesn’t work.

I think your site is disabled or having 500 Internal Server Error. See this report.

You may need to contact your host to see what is wrong at the server side.
Also, you may try to reinstall WordPres, and after that your theme and the site’s content. Make a backup of your site before making changes.
