I recently had my hosting server hacked and as a result the entire server had to be reset to default and my content manually restored. I have done this process on many other sites and they all worked – but this is the first multisite I had to work with.

The main site is displaying online fine but all other sub sites are not. They simply display the default plesk page for my host.

The database and all site content was restored correctly and information appearing in the admin area of wordpress looks to be the same (including a listing of all domains and their mappings).

Any ideas/help would be much appreciated as I am unsure what could be different in this setup.

Sounds like your wildcard subdomains got axed. Not uncommon with a full server reset. Try rebuilding that. Ask your host for help 🙂

Solution found. While all the mappings were all correct there was one setting in Plesk that did not get restored (since the server was reset and it would not have been part of the backup files).

Under our Server settings for IP Addresses I had to set the Default Site for the shared IP to point to my main site URL.
