Removing RSS feed box

Hi – I am a complete newbie and have limited tech knowledge, so require very basic language help…
I am doing a blog page using zbench and it has a RSS feed box which I don’t want there – I don’t want anything in the sidebar, to be honest, mainly because I have no idea what to do with these things. I cannot for the life of me remove it. Can anyone help – and I really do mean in simple language, pleeeease. Or maybe someone would be kind enough to explain why I would want this box and what (in real terms) I can do with it.
