Had to reinstall SFC on a couple of domains this week. Six weeks ago, the install of SFC produced two publish buttons for posting: 1)to the personal profile wall, and 2)to the fan page.

But now, there is only one button to: PUBLISH TO YOUR FACE BOOK PROFILE.

I want to post to both the profile and the fan page, but most importantly we want to post to the fan page. It posts fine to the profile page, but that is not were we have our focus to promote the organization, not myself.

What has changed? The install seems normal, even easier to do that it was 12-months ago.

    What do you think?

    Otto:

Also, FaceBook keeps blocking my attempt to install an app when I choose to make the install under my fan page login, rather than my personal login. What’s up with that? The apps section shows SFC installed under my personal profile account, but it is not installed when I”m into the fan page account.

I have the same problem ! Your plugin stop displaying on my web-site! Why it’s happens??? And how to fix that problem?!

Ok, first off, there’s no such thing as a “Fan Page account”. So saying that you have a “fan page login” really tells me that you have a business account with Facebook.

Business accounts are highly limited and can’t do things like create apps. SFC does not, and cannot, work with business accounts of any sort. You need to attach and create Fan Pages from your personal account. Facebook business accounts are useless.

Secondly, if you have the Fan Page ID number filled in on the settings page, then the publish to Fan Page button will show up. If not, then it won’t. Simple as that, really.

O.K. we see there is conflict in the terms we use to describe the experience while communicating with someone who knows the real terms. We don’t have a “Fan Page” account. We created a normal personal account with my real name, not an alias, and not an organization. Within that account we created a page and selected “organization” to represent a men’s ministry “San Diego Vibrant Men Ministries”. So, are you telling me all that now needs to be done is get the ID of the SDVMM page and put that into the SFC plugin for Fan Page. I’ll do that just now.
