Support » Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL) » [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] Force un-secure an external URL, from a secure page?

  • I’ve found workarounds for a number of various secure/insecure issues using this (fantastic) plugin….but one that I can’t figure out is how to force “unsecure” an external link.

Right now, the link is generated on the page and the plugin switches the “http://” to “https://” for an external resource…in this case, that resource returns a 404 error when one tries to access it securely. I just need a way to selectively “unsecure” an external URL. Anyone? Thx…rp

  • I am also having this issue. Trying to simply link to a site that is not my client’s, and it is converted to https://. This is a custom menu item.

Edit: this is happening on elements referenced within the content as well (links to other sites)
