• Example:
    I have a wordpress blog.
Here is my main blog domain: abc.com, and here is child blog domain: s1.abc.com.
But they are put in different server.
I have a membership for member in my site.
I want to use child blog to make fileserver, it will keep my documents and ebooks, i have a login form in here, i dont know how to merge user data between main site and child-site.
My question is How to merge user data between main site and child-site?

  • The user data is already shared between the sites, but they don’t have roles assigned to them. You can look into a plugin like this one (just an example, I haven’t used it) to set default roles and privileges across your entire network when users join.

Will it work if they are put in different server?
And i will config multisite setting with main site and chil site? Not for main site only right?

Multi-site is multiple WP sites one single WP install. Essentially you have ONE multi-site, which contains the children. Sorry I didn’t catch that they were in different servers. Is that essential? Would you feel happier if you could just have one instance to manage?

    Ok.
But i want to say with you that: my child site is put in different server, not on the same server.
Because using for download and connect to site at same time, 1 server cant do that.

I did it. But in this post, it only instructs make multisite in 1 server.

Yes, multi-site is run from one server. That one server hosts all of your sites. I must not be understanding why you can’t use one server for both downloads and other functions. Controlling access to content via membership and even payment is not uncommon. That being said, I can’t help you with any e-commerce stuff since my experience is pretty limited there.

My question is How to merge user data between main site and child-site?

To be clear: You don’t need to, WP does that for you.

However, if you mean user ROLES, they are not shared.

But i want to say with you that: my child site is put in different server, not on the same server.

    Then you’re not using Multisite.
