    The development version of this plugin implements gravatars as an option within the output. The gravatars are pulled in using the standard get_avatar() function within WordPress, which can be overridden with other plugins.

    Would you mind downloading and testing the development version of the plugin and let me know if that seems to do what you want; and if the plugin works for you? Thanks.
