If you login to your backpack (http://beta.openbadges.org/), have you dragged badges to a group and made that group public?
Right now, the only way to make badges public is by adding them to public groups. The WPBadgeDisplay reads those public groups in order to display badge. It’s my understanding that this feature of the backpack will be simplified in the future, but for now it’s an extra step.
Hi there
I just tried to issue and display some badges with my WP. But i get these errors
file_get_contents(http://beta.openbadges.org/displayer//groups.json) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /home/httpd/vhosts/blog.digitallernen.biz/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wpbadgedisplay/wpbadgedisplay.php on line 69

any ideas what went wrong ?
The url that the plugin is trying to access for a list of your public badge groups is a broken link — “http://beta.openbadges.org/displayer//groups.json” should have an ID between /displayer/ and /groups.json. This ID is supposed to be automatically retrieved by the plugin, based upon your email address.
Can you double-check that you’re entering the correct email address for your Mozilla backpack account?
