I have been having a problem in the WP admin with various pop ups related to the WPML Translate plugin and Custom Post Widget. WPML has some links in the admin that allow me to view translator bios, or get more info regarding a translation quote. However, when I click this links, the pop up returns 404. I also have the WPML guys looking at this.

The error log, however, show that when I click on these WPML related links the error results from custom post widget. See below. Please advise if you can help resolve.

    [03-Aug-2012 13:47:31] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: custom_post_id in /myserverpath/wp-content/plugins/custom-post-widget/popup.php on line 36

    Hi Squidz,

I’m not sure if I correctly understood your issue, but I have created a new version of my plugin which should take care of the error message.

Could you please download and install version 1.9.8 and let me know if it resolves the issue? If not, please try to further explain the situation, and include screenshots of the error.

Thanks Johan. I’ll try it out and report back!

    Johan –

I loaded the new version. I’m not longer getting the error in my error_log about the popup. It hasn’t solve the problem so perhaps it has nothing to do with the custom-post-widget.

BTW, I love your widget. It has become an essential one to allow end users to format rich widget content without HTML.

For testing I have installed the WPML Translation Management plugin, and I don’t get any 404 errors when clicking on the links in the blue Professional translations box so if all files of the Translation Management Plugin have uploaded correctly I guess there might be some kind of permalinks setting causing your problem.

As the debug error has been solved now, I’ll release version 1.9.8 via the automatic update when the next version of WordPress is available.

I’m glad you like my plugin and I would really appreciate it if you could favorite and/or rate it in the plugin directory: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-widget/
