TheLoop problem

Hey, a mod helped me out with a problem i was having. Now i’m having a different problem on the same type of issue.

I wanted to have on my main page, an image which when clicked, had the permalink url and would load up the single post, then when that loads up it contains my video player code with the specified video. They told me to get the excerpt reloaded plugin and replace the content with it. So that way i would put the image in the excerpt field and the video code in the post field so that the excerpt would show oin the main page and such.

However when i replaced the_content ( i have two in theloop.php) on both, then i tried on just one, and i can get just the excerpt to show up but when i click on it it still only shows the excerpt, and i tried varying on which thecontent to replace and they both do the same or show the video on the main page. any ideas?
