Import from test site to old site

    I just imported my xml export file from my other WP install (my test site) to go into my regular site. Everything worked fine, for the most part, except for all my “featured images” on each post…they do not show up on the post…or in the dashboard posts work area. I have to reset each featured picture?

    PLUS I have 140 images in the test site which I exported the xml file from…63 imported into the site I was updating. In essence not all the pictures are in the media area so I am missing other pictures in the posts as well.

    What must I do?

    test site = localhost/local computer ?

    No both are on same hosting service, just differant “sites”

    Do you using same theme ?

    If you can not find or your featured images does not work for all posts then i think your test site theme (or plugin) using auto image thumbnail a.k.a auto featured images.

    Do not use a plugin for featured images. I make my own separate 540×195 px images for featured images. I do not have 80 featured images so I know there are photos in the body of the posts that are missing as well.
