How do you edit templates…

    when you have them on your own host? I’m not talking about the options you can do in the profile edit. I’m speaking on rearanging some things on the layout.

    make changes to

    header.php
    index.php
    sidebar.php
    footer.php

    and

    page.php
    single.php
    archive.php

    It doesn’t matter whether the themes (and the template files in it) are on the host server or not… we always edit the theme files on our computer, with a nice plain text editor. (OK, sometimes not so plain, lately I was using PS Pad)
    When we are happy with the result > upload to the server via FTP.
    Oh, and we have a local install of WP, too, just to see what we are doing…
    Nobody could convince me up to this moment that there is a better way.
